I’m wise enough to accept there are things outside of my control e.g., a 4500 pound vehicle sliding sideways down a steep canyon road—out of my control. I’m also dumb enough to put myself in this type of situation… Sometimes we are fortunate enough to counter a bad decision with a good one. In this case I jettisoned the truck and rode out on the bike. A couple hours later I returned with 40 pounds of chains in my backpack and drove right out of that canyon.
